LAURA LEE & THE JETTES return with new single "Tough Love Paradigm" & are heading to the U.S.A

There seems to be nothing Laura Lee can’t do: Nearly ten years ago, she rose to international recognition with her band GURR, touring across North America, the UK, and Europe, as well as winning the IMPALA award for best indie album of the year.

In 2021, she released Wasteland, the debut album of her new band LAURA LEE & THE JETTES. Once again, her music resonated internationally. Whether it’s BBC 6 or NPR, everyone was on board. And Laura Lee kept pushing forward—eight months pregnant, she played two support shows in front of 20,000 people at Wuhlheide.

Now, in 2025, LAURA LEE & THE JETTES are set to release their second album, and as a first glimpse, their new single "Tough Love Paradigm" will drop on February 21, 2025. Right after, the band is heading to the U.S., with shows at SXSW in Austin, Texas.

About the new single, Laura says: "The song reminds me of 90s Placebo—rocky, yet super poppy and catchy. Hitting that sweet spot is always a challenge."

On the song’s theme and creation, she adds:

"The song is about how love can sometimes be ‘tough’ and even show up as a boundary. As a young mother, I feel that quite often. We recorded this track, just like the entire new album, right at Alexanderplatz in our guitarist’s studio. After working with Max Rieger on our first album, it was actually him who encouraged me to produce this one myself. The songs were mixed by Collin Dupuis, who has worked with amazing artists like Laura Carbone, Lana Del Rey, and Angel Olsen."
