Berlin-based songwriter Laura Lee steps back into the spotlight with her band Laura Lee & The Jettes, following her international breakthrough as one half of acclaimed indie duo Gurr (IMPALA Album of the Year, BBC Radio 1, NPR, SXSW, UK/US tours).
Now fronting her own project, she returns with a sharper vision: bold, melodic indie rock that blends grunge textures, Riot Grrrl attitude, and moments of emotional clarity. Her second album, Tough Love Paradigm, out September 5, is mixed by Grammy-winner Collin Dupuis (Lana Del Rey, Angel Olsen, St. Vincent) and UK producer Rhys Edwards (Ulrika Spacek).
Early singles have been picked up by KEXP, Radio Eins, Deutschlandfunk Nova, and over 50 US college & non-comm stations, entering the NACC Top 200 and “Most Added” charts.
Thematically, the new songs explore boundaries: “Unsolicited Advice” deals with unsolicited motherhood commentary, “Tough Love Paradigm” reflects on the fine lines of love and loss, and “Ordinary People” offers hope in times of exhaustion.
In spring 2025, the band completed a three-week US tour with performances at SXSW (Austin) and The New Colossus Festival (NYC), playing six shows in nine days and building lasting industry connections. Their previous shows included support slots for Beatsteaks at Berlin's sold-out 20k Wuhlheide Arena – while Laura was 8 months pregnant.
Beyond the band, Laura is also known for her work on music-theatre projects (The Master and Margarita, Schauspiel Leipzig), and her autobiographical documentary with VICE Germany.
The upcoming release will be supported by shows and activations across Europe, including two unique release shows in Berlin: one nighttime club show, and one special daytime concert – family- and kid-friendly.
With raw confidence, international experience, and a singular voice, Laura Lee & The Jettes are ready to reenter the global indie conversation.
